Last year the idea of a PNW meeting was floated but nothing ever came of it.

Well Classical Grands has moved downtown and I think the time is right to host a party.

We will have some great pianos to play and it would be great to meet everyone.

You don't have to bring anything but yourself and a smile.

I will be in Germany for part of February so perhaps the first or second week of March would be a good time to consider.

Please email me with any questions you may have.

Thanks.

Alex

Awesome! Check your schedules!
Friday night?
Saturday night? (would be best for me, since I'm an hour and 45 minutes north)
Sunday afternoon?

I will bring Meera (daughter), and she will play the 3rd movement of the Waldstein, complete with the octave glissandos. ;\)

Alex, if you want to do the food, that's great! Or, if you would like help, you could pick the theme - and we could bring specific dishes. Either way, it's up to you. (I think I might have heart failure with all that messy food around all those nice pianos, I still haven't been brave enough to have a party here with any more than two other people!! ;\) ) I'm looking forward to it. Any of you out of towners have a business trip planned to Seattle? \:\) Jodi

Just checked Meera's schedule. She has a gymnastics meet first weekend in March in Eugene, OR. But one in Seattle the 2nd weekend, so Saturday evening would work great for us.

I'll bring the Cheetos! \:D

I may be up in Portland sometime in March; I'll see if I can't schedule it around one of the early weekends.

Alex, as long as your playing the gracious host don't forget to leave the lid up on all those nice pianos. The built in cup holders in the plates are really appreciated by the guests! \:D

Nina,

Unless you would be driving up from Portland, Classical Grands is located in Seattle (not to be confused with Classic Pianos in Portland). \:D

Quit it, JohnC and Kenny! \:\) You might end up talking Alex OUT of hosting this :p ;\) \:\)

And Nina, if you drive up from Portland, you could carpool with some of the Portland contingent. Doesn't one of the Nancys live down there? I can't remember. \:\) Jodi

Hehe, It takes a little more then that to scare me. ;\)

An RSVP would be great so I can plan on having enough goodies.

I'm thinking the March 15th? as long as nobody here is superstitious.

Let me know

15th should work for us (Ellen, David, and Meera). Meera has state championships north of Seattle, but it is unlikely to go into the evening.

When you're from Phoenix and happen to be in Portland, Seattle feels like it's just right next door.

Yes, I know we are aiming for the Seattle store... but thanks for the head's up! If I'm in "Portland," I'm actually to the west in the Hillsboro area. Nancyww, is that closer to you?

If you want to get from Portland to Seattle, take the train. It is supposed to be a nice ride, and the Seattle train station is just to the south of Downtown seattle. You can just walk across to the bus tunnel, and be at Alex's in 5 minutes or less. Just an idea.

Alex, sounds great! Already have it marked on my calender! I'm so excited that we finally have a date. Classical Player, you said that you might make an apperance, still up to it?

Anyway, I was just in Classical Grands yesterday afternoon, playing just about every piano in there (but then again, I do that EVERY time I go there!). They all sound great, and the new building is a lot bigger than the old one, with really high ceilings. I can't wait to here the rest of you play. I need to spend the next month practicing up on a few things to play!!! Also, I'll try to find something to supply there as well.

Head southeast about 150 miles and you will run right into our town. Perhaps I can think up a good excuse to be in Portland or Seattle that weekend.... \:D

I want to see a piano pile up under the piano.
I felt silly doing it, but it really does make a priceless souvenir.
Then again, maybe only Californians are wacky enough to do that.

I don't suppose your store has curtains. I wonder what the people walking by are going to think when they see us piling up under those pianos...

Are these championships for piano playing and if so, where are they being held at and at what time? Are they open to the public to watch?
