For the first play SK-7,i am very satisfy.

This is my first experience to play SK-7:

1.The SK-7 sound is more soft than SK-3

2.SK-7 is more easy to play, even to play quickly movement, like
Chopin Waltz Op.64, No.1 Minute Waltz.
This is my first time to play "Chopin Waltz Op.64, No.1 " so quickly and so easy.

3.This piano volume is more quietly because the long key(new design) in the same power, but you can play more powerful if you want.

4.SK-7 high part tone is so bright than Kawai RX- or GX- series.

5.SK-7 base part is so clear.

So far i love she.

Congratulations! I'm sure you were quite nervous, without having a chance to play this piano before delivery.

Dear Mr Lee,
Your new Shigeru Kawai SK-7L is indeed "a rare treasure". Even in the brief excerpt you played nicely, we can get an impression of the extraordinary sound of this beautiful piano.

Congratulations!

Robert.

Congratulations on your new piano!!

It looks and sounds beautiful.

I wish you many happy years of playing and recording with your new piano.

P.S Now, that piano and you also deserve an artists bench.

edit: Very important that you immediately put drapes on those windows so that the piano won't get sun light.

This is bench come with SK7

But i still love my wooden chair.

To Hakki:
I have some recording question.

1.When the air condition wind blow to mics head, their is a high volume noise show on ZOOM Q8 monitor(but when i use headphone to listen not so loud).
Even i use my hand fan to mics head , high volume again.
Is it normal,or my mics have some question?

2.When i put mics to inside of piano (near strings),
what kind of capsules should i use?(cardioid or omni)
I don't know when to change capsules.

Wow that artist bench looks gorgeous.

There is nothing wrong with your mics.

Small diaphragm condenser mics are very sensitive.
Better to turn off ac briefly when you record.
Also, very important the vents should NEVER be directed to the piano.

Normally you should put on cardioid capsules when close miking. Omnis are okay too. But, with cardioids not to close. Maybe at 18 inches above the strings. Because cardioids might have a low bass boost effect when placed too close to the sound source.

Also make sure that both the pad and high-pass filter switches on the mic are set to "0"

Here is a guide that I find very useful and suggest you for mic placement and capsule selection.

Your Shigeru Kawai is beautiful and I agree with the others - it's a treasure! You will love it for a long, long time.

The slightest wind hitting a microphone will affect the recording. I agree with the comment that mentions you should turn off the AC when recording.

And I agree with the other comment that the AC fan should not blow air directly at the piano. Change the vent slats so that the airflow is directed to the side of the piano, if possible!

So never any wind blow to mics even piano.

So when using cardioids ,it must away from sound source over 18 inches?

Thanks AZ_Astro.
I will change the AC vent slats direction, not to blow to piano.

Yes.

For the height from strings 12 inches would be minimum I would think. But watch for the proximity effect for the cardioids.
Also the maximum sound pressure that NT55 can handle would be safer if you do not place the mics too close to the strings.
