#2445361 - Today at 12:12 AM Kawai Digital CA51 - servicing

Hello,
I have a Kawai CA51 Digital Piano. It was purchased in England so requires 220 volt mains but I now live in the US. I want to replace the power supply so that I can plug it directly into a US 110 volt wall socket. Right now it is running through a 220v to 110v transformer.

Does anyone know if this is something that is relatively easy to do? I have the service manual from Kawai and it seems like it should be fairly straightforward to open up the main case of the piano. Then if I can find a replacement transformer it seems like it should be easy to take out the old 220v transformer and rewire it with a 110v transformer.

Has anyone had any experience with either opening up and servicing a Kawai digital? And/or replacing the transformer?

Thanks very much to any replies.

FuzzyWuzzy, I recommend that you contact Kawai America to discuss this modification with their technical support team.

Kind regards,
James
