I'm wondering what other acoustic sound making technology has been used with keyboards aside from the traditional strings? I know we have organs, but anything else?

A number of them quickly come to mind

* glass
* vibrating metal pins (tuning fork like). Also exists with amplification
* bowed strings
* reeds (accordeon)

Maybe we need a list of the instruments and the sound:

Piano, clavichord: struck strings
Hurdy-gurdy: bowed strings
Harpsichord: plucked strings
Celesta: struck tone bars
Reeds: organ, harmonium, accordeon and variations
Flutes: organ
