Hi guys,

Does anybody have any experience with these uprights? I want to switch from my digital to the real thing, and was wondering if this is a piano that might last me a good 10 years of practice and playing. Any input is highly appreciated.

Cheers!

Just came across an article that seems to imply the B120 sold in the US is the same model. So, if anyone has tried that one, it would be useful information as well.

We have sold quite a few and our follow-up shows that purchasers are very pleased with their decision.

Hi Upbeat,

Having a staff full of tough piano critics, it's amazing how everyone unanimously likes and enthusiastically sells the Baldwin BP1 model. It has a round singing tone with a longer sustain than other similar sized pianos. One of the reasons for this is the Baldwin BP1 is basically a stretched version of the venerable Baldwin Hamilton school piano. I visited the Baldwin factory in October of 2015 and spent a long while discussing each model in the current line with the R&D team to understand the lineage. All of the pianos currently in the line other than the UH22 and Acrosonic consoles are version of the classic Baldwin uprights. They told me while the Acrosonic models are not based on the Acrosonic scales, this is the piano they are most proud of creating because of how much it sounds like the very best Acrosonics. I was impressed with the factory and primarily with their quality control team. There were dozens of inspectors wearing QC jackets at each station of the factory. The materials are all top quality. Can not recommend it highly enough.

Thank you both for your input. I can't tell you how much this helps, since I don't really trust the people who work at piano stores down here in Argentina. They seem to be better at the sales part than the customer service one.

Glenn, how would you say they compare against a Kawai K2 and a Samick 108 (43" continental)? I'm looking at these used, in almost new condition with a 10 year warranty vs. a brand new BP1.

Thanks again!
