Hi there,

I was wondering how the S90 XS and the MP-7 differed. They both have features that I am looking for, except from what I've seen, I think the MP-7 lacks performance accomp. What are the main differences between the two keyboards? Which one's touch is heavier? Which one has better "other" sounds?

Thanks

S90XS (and I presume you know that the question of "which touch is heavier" does not equate to "which feels better" or "which is more realistic" both of which would be more difficult/subjective questions)

Depends which sounds you use. Overall, I would say the S90XS overall by a good margin (in both quality and quantity), but not everywhere. For one thing, the MP7 is much better for organ sounds. I'd take the MP7 for EPs, too.

Yes, I know about touch being preference. smile I would have added the Roland RD-800 here too if I didn't dislike the touch of it.

How about interface and ease of use?
I know that the S90 is from 2009 and has been discontinued in places now (I'm in Canada) while the Mp7 is more recent (2013 was it?) Has the gap in time provided anything drastically different from each other?
Would it be still worth buying an instrument from 2009 over the MP7?
Thanks
