I am very thrilled to have purchased a 2002 Essex EGP 183 this evening in Los Angeles. It is a beautiful instrument, and I was very pleasantly surprised and pleased by the playability and tone of the piano. I owned a very nice Steinway M that I unfortunately let go some years back, and while they are clearly not the same piano, you can definitely tell that they share some of the same gene pool.

It is a satin black 6' piano, and we had a tech check it out and give us the thumbs up.

But really, what I want to say here is thanks to Bob Snyder on this board. I researched everything he has written about the Essex line before purchasing this piano, and I also want to say that Bob was extremely gracious to respond and answer my questions about this piano, which gave me a good measure of reassurance before I saw and played the instrument.

The technician was also very pleasantly surprised by this piano, since I believe it was may have been his first direct experience with the Essex line.

Thank you, Bob. I want you to know that you did us a great service, and we appreciate you very much.

Aloha,
Steve

Congratulations, Steve! I've never had a chance to play one of those.

183 must be sweet. Now the line ends shorter.
