I've been playing with the new Casio CGP-700 for the past couple of weeks (including gigs!) and its one amazing board!

So I put together an intro video about it, aimed to be as informative as possible while staying on the surface:

https://youtu.be/XRRPckoIPWA

I hope you find it useful, as this is quite an impressive board!

Sounds good, good bang for buck, buck investment low.

Thanks, Chuck.
Completely makes up for you missing summer NAMM news. wink
Casio is killing it. Portable size and weight, very good sound, simplifying the user interface with the touch screen, and nailing the price point.
I predict another great year for them.

Grrrrr --

. . . They left out the "string resonance" that's been added to the PX-360 !

But the little woofers (4.7" according to specs) are nice . . .

I think that my PX-350 (24 lbs) plus EV ZXA1 (20 lbs, roughly) weighs less than the CGP-700 with its stand and speakers. And it's _way_ louder.

But still, a neat package.

Thanks for the video!

Edit -- a review from Tim Praskins (much gushing praise):

Can't have it all at $799 street. At least not this year. wink
Itching to see what they do on the update to the PX-5S.
The PX-560 has checked off some nice improvements that were on the list.

You shaid it, Bachus. The PX-560 looks the real deal. Kraft and Sweetwater are taking pre-orders, looks like a street price of $1199.99 and will ship in October.

It looks like the new user interface is the same across the line. Hopefully it's ready and not buggy. Chuck says he's gigging with it no mention of issues in this video. Hopefully he shows some more in the next one.

Yes its the same user interface all over at Casio, however, the 560 has more options, like an arpeggiator and Hex sounds and 256 polyphony and 3 knobs.. You cant go wrong there for €1000,

The only competition might be comming from the PX-7S Pro but that will be in 2016 after NaMm

You think? I haven't heard anything about the naming of a PX-7S or an arrival date. You have any inside info?

I do expect a PX-5S successor at winter NAMM 2016 though (or MusikMesse in April), and it will obviously have the same touch screen UI as the PX-560 and the rest. 26lbs is very attractive to me. I need to find some triple sensor Casio actions to mess with to see if one of these is going to do it for me. No PX-5S in the shops anywhere around me. Some of their lesser models though... like the PX-150 or 350 are probably in the digital piano sections of the local stores.

It'd be cool if the stand is fairly easy to take apart and re-assemble, and if it is designed to have good longevity for repeated dis/re-assembly.

If they used machine screws, that's what I like to see.
Going forward, it would be nice if these DPs with amp and speakers built in (but with slab weight/size for mobility) would use a simple/sturdy locking mechanism. Quick and easy on/off the stand for gig and back home.

PX7s.. Assumptions and some reading between the lines.. Nothing of proof..
