I'm planning on buying a Yamaha NP11 to do music study while doing a long road trip. I need a carrying bag, so I thought that before ordering one I'd ask here. This is probably the best option, but does anyone have a better idea to recommend. Just doing my due diligence.

Thanks, Dave

Kraft Music sells the NP11 in a bundle with the Kaces 7KB XPress Series Keyboard Bag.

The NP11 specs say it is:
40 and 13/16" long
10 and 1/4" wide
4 and 1/8" high

The Kaces 7KB XPressbag is for 6k keyboards and has the following dimensions.
Interior Length: 42.25"
Interior Width: 14.63"
Interior Height: 5.25"

It looks like it easily, and loosely fits in this bag. Your link isn't working for me, so not sure if the one you are thinking of is a better match or not.

Best.

I have a Yamaha NP 80. the NP-80 is the high end brother to the NP-11. I had a NP-31 and loved it. I bought this bag for my np-80 and I bet they make a version for the NP-11. the bag is really well made. I use it for traveling also. www.musiciansfriend.com/accessories/yamaha-ybnp76-76-key-piaggero-np-series-keyboard-bag

Please excuse the faulty link. I just tried again. I was able to copy and paste the following link successfully.

Strangely enough, Yamaha doesn't appear to sell a YBNP61 bag for the NP11.
Although they do sell a YBNP76 for the NPV60, NPV80, NP30 and NP31 as mentioned above.

The YBA611 you're looking at doesn't specifically mention that it is for the NP11.
And its specs are not precise, but expressed on amazon as 44"x20" so my guess is the NP11 will also fit loosely in this bag as well.

I found some discussion in the question and answer section of the listing for the "Yamaha YBA611 61-Note Artiste Series Nylon Keyboard Bag".

The person quoted recommends the Gator GKB-61-Slimline. Any agreement on his recommendation ?

(heck, now I'm considering the NP31 76 key. I'm thinking it would have more function in playing with other people. A little more weight and cargo space taken up. But for driving across town and playing with a percussion player at his house it might fit the bill. Looks like I've highjacked my own thread !)

Back to the bag...
The following is copied and pasted as is:

(length is 43 3/4; depth is 20 1/4 inches Heighth is about 6-7 inches.). It is OK for the keyboard with lots of bells and whistles, that are fairly deep. It is too big to transport an NP-11 .. For the NP-11, I would suggest a Gator GKB-61-Slimline. The NP-11 is 41L X 5H x11D. The Gator bag is 41 1/2 L X 5H X 12 1/2D. It comes in a soft (5 lb) and "hard" style with wheels (23 lbs).

If specs are correct, that bag would be close to exact fit. Too close?. Hard to say.

I HEARTILY recommend this Roland Juno gig bag for the NP-11:

http://www.roland.com/products/juno-bag/

I used it to take my NP-11 as *checked baggage* all over the world, and it worked beautifully. It's a very snug fit (unlike a lot of bags that leave a lot of space around the board) -- I consider that a very good thing. It's also very light, decently padded, and will include the integral music stand, hookup wires, instruction manual, and a few other things, either inside the main compartment or in the pocket.

I seriously doubt you'll find anything better suited to the NP-11 than this bag.

Good luck to you.

There will be a lot of loose space around the board in this bag. To me, that's a bad thing, especially if you're considering trying to check the unit as luggage on a flight, etc.

My preference is for a snugger fit -- see post nearby recommending the Roland Juno bag for the NP11.
