I'm looking for a portable digital piano / keyboard to be used with a full band connected to FOH. Which one would you buy:

Casio CDP-100 225.00
Korg SP-170 250.00
Korg SP-250 300.00
Casio PX100 300.00

Try Kawai ES100, best key action under $1500 range...

If you can go to around $500, I'd pick a Casio PX-150 (out of production, but still available) or PX-160 (with "Line Out" jacks) over any of those.

I would _not_ get the Korg SP-170 -- I really hated the action, on that, when I played it.

Take this with a grain of salt because I wouldn't actually buy any of those... my tastes are a bit more expensive.

I'm not wild about the connectivity on the ES-100: you'd need to run it out to FOH through the headphone jack, which is pretty kludgey, and the interface is not great for quick sound adjustment. Internal sounds and keyboard feel is good, though. The Kawai ES8 is the best piano for gigging, but much more expensive than what Grayson73 is looking at.

Get your hands on the Korgs and Casios and try them out, preferably with some band mates so you'll be able to see if they "cut through" when wanted. I used to gig with a Korg SP-200, but it had a lot of keybed fails so I sold it. I thought the SP250 was a step down in keybed playing feel (though a step up in terms of on-board speakers -- you might not even need a monitor amp). A used SV-1 would be great too, depending on what kind of music your band plays (it has very fun eps and clavs).

I don't know the Casios at all, though I've heard very good things about some of them as low-end pianos go.
