Just an FYI. Bought one of these with sticky keys. Thought I could fix. After some attempts and major effort, plus it had been "fixed" by a tech. for the owner before I got it. Purchased new at Costco 2004 for $1000. I then took it to Costco and was told there was nothing they could do. It was too old and wasn't in production any longer. I had replaced the keybed shaft (which had already been done. There was a bind in the keys or the counter weights. To get at these the entire unit must be dismantled. At which point it is a gamble still.. you would remove a bit of material from the sides of 88 keys and solve the problem of swelling plastic. My wife was tired of looking at it dismantled and today I chucked it in the trash. Buyer beware!!! I now have a $60 bench.

Suzuki is not a brand that gets much mention these days when people recommend which DPs to buy, and I think there's a reason for that. I think if you buy a Roland, Yamaha, or Kawai DP that's 10+ years old, you have a better chance of getting something that will continue to work or need minimal work (assuming it wasn't trashed by the previous owner).

If you only spent $60 then I don't really think you have much to complain about, although you probably put more work into it than it was worth.

If you're going to buy a DP in the used market, you may want to only buy something that works rather than try to fix. With any brand, the replacement materials will be tough to scrounge up. Hope you have better luck in the future!

Thanks for the FYI. thumb

I was just about to buy a Suzuki........SS-1000, but now I think I'm gonna wait for the 2000. If not, I'll wait for the 3000; that one will definitely do the trick.
