What do you guys think? I found this piano advertised in newspapers, and it costs only 4,800 euros? Do you think it's worth it? Because I really, really, really want to buy it.

If you can get that piano, at that price and it is in playable condition then snatch the vendor's hand off. Get it checked, of course, first but even with a few problems it is still good value.

Where is it? Where are you?

The serial number looks like 232xx, which would make it about 92 years old. One can expect changes in that time. It looks rebuilt, and the value will depend on the quality of the rebuild.

I don't think the model 200 has been around for 92 years. according to the company's website, it's been made for "over 50" http://www.boesendorfer.com/en/models/model-200

No offense BDB, but I don't know how you can read the serial number in those photos, much less tell if the instrument has been rebuilt. The price would certainly suggest that it is in original condition.

Zeljko, if I were you, I would research the serial number and have a local tech check it out. At that price, it will probably need some work, but it might be worth it...

let us know what happens!

not a Boesendorfer 200 or really old the removable capo was there in 1915 yet

send the pics to the factory to ask what they think; never seen a Boesen plate with embossed XX , also (but he left side of the plate have some similarities)

The really old ones did have a Viennese action (around 1900 and before)

If you click on the first picture, you will get an enlargement and the serial number is blurry, but visible.
