#2486095 - Today at 02:17 PM Roland LX-17, LX-7 or LX-15E?

Hi Guys,

My partner has £3k to spend and I know she wants a stand up (cabinet) digital piano.

I've been having a look about and believe I've narrowed my list down to the below three:

Roland LX-15E
Roland LX-17
Roland LX-7

I understand that the LX-17 is the successor to the LX-15E and the LX-7 is also part of the new range of Roland pianos.
I doubt I can find a good deal on the LX-17 for around £3k but that would be the ideal one.

I guess my main question is, which of the three would you get for the budget I have? The LX-15E is on a great discount for £2.5k with a stool and headset on certain sites, which is the same price as the LX-7 but I'm not sure if the new systems in the LX-7 and LX-17 differ that much for me to get the LX-7 over the LX-15E.

Any help would be appreciated guys!

kushy28, the LX-15E uses a combination of sampling and modelling in order to produce the piano sound, while the LX-7 and LX-17 utilises a brand new tone generator that according to Roland is fully modelled. This alone is quite a significant change, but there will also be differences to the keyboard action and other features of the instruments.

I honestly don't believe you can go far wrong with any of the instruments at this level, therefore my advice would be for both yourself and your partner to play-test the LX-15E, LX-7, and LX-17 side-by-side and purchase the instrument that brings you the most musical enjoyment.

Best of luck!

Kind regards,
