Hi,
So now that I'm trying to commit to play again (again!) I definitely think a better stand is in order for my ES7, one that doesn't wobble whenever playing would be nice!

Looking for recommendations, needs to be able to be taken apart/moved without too much effort as the piano isn't in a permanent place at the moment.

I would get the furniture stand that is made for that piano.

I believe it is the Kawai HM-4 product ID. You may see it as HML4 or HM4 on some websites.

You can remove the keyboard from that stand with just 2 wingnuts and then the stand and keyboard can be moved easily, separately.

You do not have to break down the stand any further. It is light enough to just pick it up as it is.

Yes, the HM-4 stand (for ES7/ES8) or a good quality table stand such as the K&M 18953 will be a marked improvement over the X-stand you are currently using.

K&M Omega has been an amazingly solid and portable stand for me with all my boards in including ES7. Expensive, but well worth it IMO.

I have never owned this type of stand but I may consider it in the future.

However, Looking at the photo, I cannot see how the keyboard will be connected to the stand.

Can you shed some light on that ?

Hi Don, keyboard does not connect in a literal sense, just sits solidly on top of the arms. The variable board width is a great feature. Plus expandability options which i have not tried yet. Ok ... Well, that is what it looked like. I just didn't believe that was it.

So, the weight of the keyboard is enough to keep it solidly in place while you play it.

Of course the HM-4 stand is the most solid option, but for portability the Omega is a great option with little compromise.

Thanks for the replies, meant to say I'm based in the UK as that often is a limiting factor when it comes to buying things I find, however all of the stuff you guys recommended is available from thomann.de it seems which is a decent site as far as I'm aware.

Currently it's in a room with carpet if that has any affect on the options suggested so far. I do like the look of the furniture one, my only (well my main) concern would be when it comes to moving it from house to house, and if the taking apart/putting back together would cause damage over time (will be moving this summer and possibly the summer after that).

There is something very satisfying about the way the K&M stands look, industrial and not cheap.

With regards to the moving, it doesn't have to move to a lot, but it needs to be fairly easily moved if you get me, in theory it can stay there for months, but if people want the space in the room then it needs to be taken down so it's out of the way on the floor (it partially blocks the TV)

Well, if you are THAT pressed for room, then the furniture stand is probably not right for this. It really cannot be reduced in size and set out of the way as easily as the K&M Stand.

I am just wondering how the TV got in the way, here. The image you provided did not show any TV issue.

Yes, I agree, the K&M would be the most portable option, while still being stable.

I'm in the UK so sadly that limits my options.

It looks like it has the cure for wandering pedal syndrome as well.
