Hello from Greece,
My daughter has just begun piano lessons, and I want to buy the best "value for money" digital piano. After searching on internet, three models are in my mind at the end; YAMAHA S52, ROLAND F140 and CASIO PX 860. The bad thing is that I don't have the opportunity to see, touch and listen them live at a store here in Thessaloniki. Also, I have to buy the piano from internet. Furthermore, only YAMAHA has an official representative at Greece. Can you help me choosing the best (key touch, sound and "strong manufacturing") one for a young piano student who her father is willing to overpass the family budget for a piano? I would like to know which one is the "most" natural acoustic piano and my daughter will be practising on it for the most time possible!
Thank you in advance,
Gregory

I think in that price range they are the best three and each one is a good purchase, its a tough decision. I would choose the Yamaha S52 but only on aesthetic grounds. I think the Roland has the best action of the three, the Casio has the best sound system and the Yamaha the best all rounder but each one would be a good choice, sorry I can't help more. All three are very good value for money. In my opinion a slightly better choice would be the Kawai CA17 but it is more expensive.

Have you thought of renting a piano?

I agree with Markalien, all three are a good choice. I find the Yamaha ydp-s52 to have a great sound and solid piano action. I have the previous model ydp-s51 and the quality is superb!

Same opinion here, all good choices. I lean towards the F140R because its key action is a tad better and it's the most feature rich of the three ... bluetooth connectivity for iPad, audio-in for MP3 player, 72 rhythm styles and lots of tones to explore. For a daughter, the white one will be perfect.

Hi, i agree that Roland F140R could be the best of that bunch... i suggest you try Kawai KDP90 too. Cheers!.

Roland F140R by far. Best action, most realistic piano sound especially with pedaling etc. They are sold with 10 year warranty here, so obviously Roland has confidence in the quality.

Thank you very very much for your help!
For Dave Horn; Here in Thessaloniki there is nobody who has pianos for rent.
As for the rest of you, I appreciate your opinion, especialy for Roland, because Roland pianos are totally unknown at Greece.
If I understood well, as for the key action and touch F140 is a little better than YDP S52. However, it is difficult to decide to buy something expensive (at least, for my wallet) so I take very seriously your opinion and if you have something more to mention or comment it will help me more!
