Oopsie! Thanks Gandalf, in that case I'll just stick with the Schumann. Cheers!

Cathryn, you're still showing up with two submissions, at #40 and #41 (unless by coincidence there really IS a 'Cathyn999' as well ... ) smile

I'll take care of it... Cathryn said she wanted to go with the Schumann, so I'll delete the other entry.

And, yes, the recital rules are firm. That AB_Forum_Recital chick wields a mean whip. smokin laugh

Hey guys, as you've probably seen, I've run into a snag with the forum software. When I post the individual entries, in the past I have had to switch the option from "using UBB Code" to "using UBB Code and HTML." But this time when I do the pull down menu I don't get any other options. All I get is "using UBB Code" which makes the individual entries come out in gibberish. I don't know how to fix this. I have a message in to Sam, but if one of the moderators sees this and knows what is going on from the software end, let me know.

In the mean time I'll go ahead and make and post the zip files, but it's possible the individual entries won't be posted until tomorrow... or however long it takes to get the software problem straightened out. I don't think it is something on my end, as my computer etc. is unchanged from the last recital. frown

I'm not sure how this works but mods, can you please remove my entry for the Bach Prelude in C major? Don't want to break the rules on my first ever recital in 40 years, and certainly hate to muck up Carlos and Pollux's cunning numbering plan! :-)

Monica, I changed your permission to give you more "power", see if that helps.

I think Bb player might know more about this than I do. Have let him know what I tried.

Monica, the option is also missing for me - only "using UBBCode" is available. You'll have to contact someone higher up the chain of command...

Thanks, casinitaly, but that didn't work. The most likely scenario is that the latest update of the forum software removed the html option for posting. I asked BB Player to ask Frank about it. I'm hoping it's something that can be fixed to add back the html option (not ready to think about the implications if it can't!). But I think it means it won't be a quick fix. Sorry, everybody! I know how much it adds to be able to read people's comments about their pieces. 😥 hopefully we'll get it all straightened out soon.

Just a quick suggestion for a temporary solution Monika.

Go here... http://www.garyshood.com/htmltobb/
Paste in your usual HTML of the entries, and it should convert it to UBB Code that you can submit without it being gibberish.

Might be worth a try.

And Monica, when you've finished using your hard-earned retirement time working this out, what can we do for you in thanks?

Phew!! Crisis averted! And the recital is now completely live. heart

However--and this is important--unless Frank changes the forum software options, anybody who wants to administer any of the themed recitals using the recital software will need to get their permissions changed to allow them to post using both UBB and html code. I don't participate in any of the themed recitals, so I may not think to remind people when those threads come up.

p.s. to Cathryn999... I'm hoping your request to delete your submission was tongue-in-cheek. In any event, once I close the recital it's set in stone; I can't add or delete entries. And I wouldn't want to delete yours. grin

I've set the forum permissions for those in the recital management group to allow both UBB/html posting so this shouldn't be a problem unless of course they get changed in a future forum update (which is what happened here).

Not to invite more work for myself, but for future reference, anyone who manages the recitals and has this problem should contact me via PM.

Enjoy the recital!

Heh, i was about to offer to write a quick program to do the conversion, but clearly the internet provides.
