Sightreading seems like one of those keys to progressing more quickly. I'm still very much a beginner, so being able to more easily read music is hugely appealing to me. The practice is such a slog though...

Learning how to sightread was exciting to me as well, especially with the carrot of shorter time to learn a song hanging in front of me. I did like the process of these lessons, but it sure is nice to be playing actual music again. I'm not sure, but I think that I can read the music a little easier now. The level two and below music isn't a problem now, but anything harder and I'm back to note by note practically. I did try every method under the sun to learn the sightreading.

Unearthed that sickly sweet song "You Raise me Up" which I just love to hate.

I heard it played brilliantly. And so. . .

Here I go!! Hard work ahead, but I hope to learn from it. And from the performers who are half my age, nay. . even a quarter!

Wish me luck hahahaharder than most classics Ive tried to date. . . grin

We got a lot to thank Youtube for.

A little Bach, not very well though. His music tends to make me want to pull my hair out.

Johan, you keep polishing those Jazz standards. Before long we will be seeing you at New Orleans Jazz Fest on the Economy Hall Stage. That's where I spent most of today. Can't play Jazz, but love to listene to it.

Today Telemann, and tried a little Leyenda by Albeniz. Heard that performed at Jazz Fest this week. Sounds hard, but it really isn't.

5/4: stuck on Mozart last few days. Sight reading, but definitely not at speed as allegro or presto, but enjoying the challenge.

5/5: plan to get back to Zipoli. Thanks to Johan B.

Less time to play today....very busy at home doing all kind of house-things.....among others cleaned and polished our two cars since long times....

So in the evening only playing a few of my favourite suites of Händel, G minor, D minor....
Maybe next day more time to play...I hope

Best regards,
Johan B

5/6: Mozart bits of a sonata, here and there. Beethoven 5th piano concerto, second movement, a little here and there. I enjoyed the sounds, and the reading was challenging. Still not sure who I'll settle on.

5/7 a little Mozart, for about 30 minutes or so. Focused on bringing out the right hand. I can do that in the day time!!! Worked with metronome also.

Johan, are we the only ones who post here???
