Hello again!
I'm back from a two week piano vacation!
I've had so much fun and learned a lot at the same time.
I had four people in a dorm room (including me) sleeping each night with a bathroom.
I loved the dorm life and I thought it was very cool.
A sample of our schedule would be.
6:30AM Wake-Up
6:45-7:35 Breakfast
7:40 Walking to FSU
7:50-8:50 Music Theory
9:00-10:40 Practice!
10:50-11:50 Piano Literature
12:00PM-1:00 Lunch
1:15-2:15 Masterclass
2:20-4:20 (2 Private Lessons a week give us only one hour of practice during this period.)
4:20-5:10 Composing & Arranging
5:20-6:30 Dinner
7:00-9:15 Choose night activities and/or individual practice.

I personally had a blast, and so did my roommates.
I'd like to share my performance video and thank everyone at the Florida State University's College of Music for aiding me in getting better smile

I was under the impression that you've only been playing for a year? I must be wrong!

Great combination, piano and astronomy. Best thing I ever did was take up the piano. Just wish I'd done it a long time ago, and not waited until I was almost 70.

You must be a prodigy then, to be playing at this level in a year and a half. Well done, nice job, I'm shocked your parents didn't get you started as a small child!

If I started as a small child I wouldn't be able to sit still to play one piece haha smile

Very nice playing. Do they have regular Jansen artist benches or is that model the norm?

They have regular artist benches, but they opted for this because it is hydraulic and is easily changed by everyone's preference.

Kenan:

I watched your performance in the video. I am amazed at how well you are able to handle the fast section in the middle, especially with less than two years' playing under your belt.

There were a few odd moments, but overall it was a very musical and thoughtful presentation of this masterpiece by Rachmaninov. I can't help but think that if you maintain this piece in your repertoire, it will deepen and mature even more.

Loved the little pauses, here and there. Seemed like you could work on the dynamics a bit more. Overall, an A+! Be proud young man! You appeared confident at the keyboard.

Keep up the great work!

Thank you AZ Astro! I try my best, in a few months perhaps I'll be able to make it without mistakes and make it more dramatic with softer dynamics.

It's all there, inside you. I have no doubt that you will read more deeply into each piece the longer that you have them under your fingers. This one is still pretty new to you! The odd parts for me were timing related, but they were few and did not detract from the overall presentation.

I wouldn't worry too much about the mistakes! Play on! You have made excellent progress in the past three months.

That's amazing for just a year and a half. One funny thing about the video is that the piano looks like a toy. Are you extremely tall, like Rach himself? What make and model was it?

I'm only 6 feet tall, and the piano is a Steinway model B
I don't really know why I look so tall, I guess I should've lowered the seat a tiny bit more.
