A solo piano composition I've been working on, Lost Isle.

The sound was provided by Pianoteq 5 (a modeled (not sampled) Steinway Model B grand piano).

I aslo use the digital-audio recorder Ardour in Linux.

Lost Isle, Stephen C. Doonan

Best wishes everyone.

There are lots of nice rich jazzy harmonies in this piece, but I was it was more than just chords with accompaniment.

Thanks, Steve-- Your post made me realize that I posted the wrong YouTube link (it led to my composition Seascape 1). Because I can no longer edit the incorrect post above, the corrected link to the piece I mentioned above, Lost Isle, is below.

Lost Isle, piano solo

The primary reason the right-hand part of the piece you saw and heard at YouTube, Seascape 1, consisted mostly of chords, is that this piece was composed several months ago after treatment for cancer that nearly disabled my right arm and hand, making chords about all I could manage with limited finger articulation. Recovery is slow, but proceeding better than I or my doctors expected. Lost Isle is a more recent piece. smile
