I'm having to skip around and pick and choose what to comment on, although I listened to everything, because things are just so busy. Loved the recital!
17. Pathbreaker (Tarik) - Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 21-1 Excellent! I've never heard this before. Very interesting...
18. Ganddalf - Rondo D-major, K485 I can't tell you've had a month of - sounds great as usual!
19. CASINITALY (Cheryl) - Sonatina in G major - 3 movements Loved it Cheryl! Recording all 3 movements - that's a major accomplishment.
20. h8dk97 - For Elise Less than a year o lessons? This is great!
22. Greener/Jeff - Milonga del Angel Very cool - love the rhythm.
25. jotur - Cathy Turner - Somewhere My Love I couldn't place this until you said "Dr. Zhivago" - now I remember! Sounds like great fun!
29. MaryBee - Pavane pour un Infante defunte Excellent - I still think it sounds mournful to me. Maybe the ghost of the princess is doing the dancing!
30. Michiyo-Fir/Jade - The Lark Well, that's a haunting piece - never heard it before - great playing!
33. Cathryn999 - Bach Invention No. 14 So this is what "A" playing sounds like? Now I know! I think I would probably get a "D" on this one...
34. Zoot64 - Invention in C major BWV 772 Back to Back Bach Inventions (sorry, couldn't resist the joke). Sounds great!
39. outo - Nocturne nr 4 Never heard this before - never knew that Poulenc wrote solo piano pieces. Sounds great! The upright is in better tune, but the grand sounds more expansive - maybe that's the room.
40. PikaPianist - Puck, Lyric Pieces Op. 71, No. 3 Well done! That was plenty fast - any faster and you run the risk of not hearing all the delicious details.
41. SwissMS/Doris - Arietta Op 47 #7 Very sensitive playing - Should be great for the Russian Recital!
42. Schubertian - Nocturne in E, Op 62 No 2 Sounds great so far! Can't wait to hear and compare next time...
43. owenj / Jaime - Medieval Fair Welcome to the ABF Recitals! Great job!
45. Whizbang (Chris) - Cottontail Rag Chris, excellent as usual - glad you submitted it. I'm working on a rag, but it's a secret...
50. f3r (Mark) - Nocturne No.1 in E flat Major Everybody plays it too fast except for you! Kudos for working this out on your own.
51. joangolfing - Adagio BWV 974 I played this too - it is addictive. I never bothered to really study, the ornaments, just played what sounded good to me - great job! Try it with more pedal - it's an transcription of an orchestra piece - why not use pedal?
52. cscl - Traumerei (Kinderszenen, Op. 15, No. 7) A fitting end to the recital, just like an encore - this thing is much harder than it sounds - great job!

32. Carlos- The neat thing about the music you play is that you always make it yours. You know what I mean? Peyton, thank you. I'm not sure if what I think it's what you want to mean about making the music "mine"... Can you clarify...? It's not like you are playing someone else's work… it's played like you wrote it. You "own it".

Quite late to the party (It's been a busy week....), but I'd like to post my comments on at least a few of the recital pieces that really caught my attention:
05 Jazztpt - Just wonderful! I love this kind of music and am working on learning to play exactly like this (but I've got a long way to go.) Nice!
08 Riddler(Ed) - Again, my kind of piano music. Beautiful arrangement, wonderfully performed!
21 Daren - A very beautiful, emotional piece, well performed! This is definitely a piece I'd like to learn.
32 CarlosCC - I'm not familiar with this piece, but your playing is quite lovely.
37 Kris Shendo - Another piece that I've never heard and a composer I'm not familiar with. Thanks for introducing us to something old (but new to me). How would you classify this piece? It sounds like it has some ragtime elements, but I'm sure I'd call it ragtime. Well done!
38 JoBert - Now here's a piece that I know and have heard often - but never on piano! Nicely done. I wouldn't have thought it lent itself so well to piano.
43 owenj / Jaime - A mere two weeks of experience on the piano? Wow - very impressive! Martha Mier's arrangements are indeed fun to play. Keep at it!
45 Whizbang (Chris) - I love rags (although I can't play them) and this is so well done! Brings forth images of days gone by. Nicely done!
46 PhilzPiano - Another piece I've never heard. Very delicately played. I enjoyed this.
49 Jen Weir - A lovely arrangement, very nicely played. I enjoyed it.
Congratulations to everyone who participated in this recital. I'm always amazed at the amount of talent found here.
I'd also like to thank those who listened to and commented on my piece - Ralphiano, MarieJ, MeganR, Riddler, peterws, Greener, bSharp(C)yclist, PhilzPiano, kris schendo, SwissMS, and ShiroKuro. (I hope I didn't forget anyone!)

Thank you for the introduction to Astor Piazzolla You're Welcome. My first introduction was here as well. An excellent 20th century composer I'd estimate. What a fascinating piece! I love those minor harmonies. Played flawlessly ...
... Gorgeous, I love this piece and how you perform it. Piazzolla studied with Ginastera (who composed my submission to this recital), and while the styles are different the Argentinian character is strong in both. I’m in love with this type of music, Piazzolla’s work is definitely on my wish list of pieces to learn.
... Love the tango arrangement. Argie tangoes always sound a bit menacing, and have a dark flavor. Super job here, man. You project a great feel to this.
Very sweet playing, Jeff. An excellent for vehicle for you - it fits you very well. Your piano sounds better, too.
It is all music to my ears. The flawless part there could be disputes about, Ed but ... Thank you, very much. Thank you everyone who has listened and for all the very kind acknowledgements. It is pretty much what keeps me at it and wanting to improve. So glad you enjoyed barbaram. That is interesting and Thanks for info on Ginastera. This piece is not difficult to learn. The bridge has some stretches I found a bit tricky. It is evident in my recording and timing was not quite firing on all cylinders. I found the first part of bridge passage the trickiest of all, but not much else. Will help with biggish hands. Nice to hear this. Thank you. I've been entertaining out of town guests for the last few days and have had limited capacity to be out here. I've a fair bit of more listening to do and getting caught up with everything else too. Looking forward to second half.

15. Richard (zrtf90) – Beethoven – A long time ago I bought a book of Beethoven sonatas at a thrift store. A long time ago less a couple of years I took it back I’m impressed when anyone can make music of a sheet that is just a jumble of notes to me. I love your engrossed approach to your pieces – it’s helped me a lot as I’ve gotten better at practicing. I can tell you’re just this side of this becoming fluent and truly musical, although I liked the crescendo in the 7 minute range – very authoritative. Way to go! 16. Newbert – Wonder – Someday I’ll work my way up to this time frame and then I’ll remember this piece and add it to my repertoire It does sound fun to play, and you had a nice flow with it. 19. casinitaly – Diabelli – I love the way you keep growing in your piano playing, and I’ve gotten a kick out of your recent accomplishments in that thread. Wow, it’s great. This piece was very well played, and yes there was a playfulness about the third part that you conveyed. Brava. 22. Greener/Jeff – Piazzolla – I love to see what you’ve picked next because I often don’t know the composers or the style. I can hear the pre-tango in this, and I thought you did well with the lead in the left hand part. 23. Sam S – Mendelssohn – another accomplished performance – it is so cool that you go to Summerkeys and now college – another inspiration and role model for me as I plink thru more pop stuff. The trills were great! 26. sinophilia – Hamburg & Arlen – I got a request for this at my last gig – too bad I couldn’t import you! I love it slow and dreamy and I thought you played wonderfully. Masterful page turns, too! 29. MaryBee – Ravel - I hear you on the rolled chords - I so often mush them, and you had most of them very clean and with each note clear and timed well. Good work!

22. Greener/Jeff - Milonga del Angel wonderful!! I only know a little of Piazzolla's music, but this was just beautiful-- the place and your playing. Now I want to hear more, thanks for sharing this! 23. Sam S - Venetianisches Gondellied opus 30-6 Is this one of the more famous boat songs? I really like it, and your playing was great! The "kitchen piano" sounded nice too! 25. jotur - Cathy Turner - Somewhere My Love very nice! It's interesting reading about you hearing it as a waltz. I didn't hear your playing as a waltz (i.e. I didn't hear it in 3/4 time) but it sounds like it would be perfect for a slow dance. On a beach under a shady tree! I think you do the dance so well that you make this dance too, which is quite nice!

47. Yamaha G3 & P-80 Mike White - Minnie, dalla mia casa son partito Not familiar with this, but I liked its quiet, peaceful mood. Thank you! 48. Ralphiano / Ralph - Chant Ancien I can see why you were smitten, it *is* a little gem, and you played it with just the right gentle touch. (Re playing dyads, isn’t it rewarding when a piece you fall in love with also offers a new leap in the development of your playing skills?) Congratulations! 49. Jen Weir - Hallelujah An intricate arrangement of one of my Leonard Cohen favourites - I enjoyed it, and your sensitive playing, very much. 50. f3r (Mark) - Nocturne No.1 in E flat Major Have you really only been playing 11 months?! That was simply amazing - beautifully handled. 51. joangolfing - Adagio BWV 974 I love this Adagio. For a work-in-progress, it’s well advanced. Very well done! (Your GC1 sounded great, too.) 52. cscl - Traumerei (Kinderszenen, Op. 15, No. 7) Ah, Traumerei! I never tire of this. Clearly background noises didn’t overly distract you (or us ) - I can really sympathise. A most enjoyable end to a terrific Recital! A huge thank you to ABF Recital organisers (you know who you are) for yet another wonderful event, and to Piano World for hosting it. What a special place to visit!

18. Ganddalf - Rondo D-major, K485I love Mozart, and I love your playing, so this is a win-win situation for me. Once again, you did a great job playing this Rondo; you are one of the stars of this recitals. Thanks for sharing. 04. Barbaram - Danza de la Moza Donosa If what you want to achieve it's "expression", then I think you're in the right path. Sad piece, but expressive enough to catch the listener attention. Good job! 36. Piano Primo 1 - Solfeggetto, Dream Echoes I'm not a Bach fan or expert but I recognize this might be hard to play... As for the second piece (@01,21), oh, what a beauty! Well done! 15. Richard (zrtf90) - Largo e mesto I like the way you played the intro, just like preparing us for the rest of the piece. Really well done Richard. This piece is "deep" and you played it just right. Congratulations. 22. Greener/Jeff - Milonga del Angel Jeff, I can recognize your playing from the very first chords and I think this is one of your best records. It seems that this piece was made for your style of playing; or you're getting better and better each recital I loved how you kept the rhythm and the "latin sound" along the entire piece. very good!

03. MarieJ - The Snow Prelude No.3 in C-MajorGoes directly to my favorite folder and to the TOP of my to-do list. What a beauty, MarieJ! This piece it's really sweet for the listener, but it needs a soft and good touch of the player. Sense of rhythm it's essential, along with those perfect pauses. And you did it with mastery, MarieJ. I've been watching your progress along the recitals, and let me tell you that I'm amazed how fast you manage to get the Einaudi "spirit" under your fingers. Congratulations! 31. Alexander Borro - ABC ElementsAlexander, I've got the Elements sheet book and, apart from "Night", I'm not working on it for now; but I was watching this one to try to play it one day. What you did here was an huge and wonderful work. Only those who have tried Einaudi can understand how difficult is to play this kind of pieces. Your dynamics is top and it's obvious to me that you understand the message of ABC Elements. Very, very good. 24. ShiroKuro - NefeliI love to play Nefeli because it has some of figures that I love to do - mainly in dynamics. My version it's a little bit different from the original too - yes, I will do a record some day -, but I think you did a very good job. Listening to yours gave me some ideas. Very good!

I’m stealing this quote and “mimic†from my college lit professor- at the near end of a semester he wrote on a handout a quote from A Shakespearean play- "The Tempest". The last chord or few measures of 52. cscl - Traumerei (Kinderszenen, Op. 15, No. 7) reminded me of that feeling when i read it so long ago. “Our revels are nearly ended…..†but here ----- - until the next recital …. -This was an awesome recital, Several were so very moving and impressive.!! Look forward to the next! Thanks for the feed back I received it is motivating.

38 Jo Bert You have the Kawai set up really well, and this piece came to life. Darth Vader and his cronies were superb too! 39 Outo So unusual. But I guess not for the French . . can I say that here? Quirky, all over the place and displaying jazzy influence, what`s not to like? Great job on those two pianos. BTW, both sounded similar, but the second had more depth and quality imo. Did I get that right way round? 40 Pika Pianist So , it was too fast was it? Just how fast can you go before Ravenscroft cries "enough!" and cuts out!..Nowt wrong wi that, man. Any faster is just showing off . . . . This was just . . .perfect. And I`m unanimous on that.

Another batch of comments, I'm going at it a bit randomly but I do hope to get to everyone over the next little while. 19. CASINITALY (Cheryl) - Sonatina in G major - 3 movements All three movements, phew! First movement – very pretty, flows along in a lovely confident manner with only a very occasional hesitation Second movement – slow and stately, very graceful. Third movement – yes, a lovely cheeky flavour and very nice at this tempo too even if you’d like it faster Well done, a great achievement! 27. chrisbeech - Sonatina in C op 36 No 1 2nd MovementThese Clementi sonatinas are very pretty, you do a very nice job with this. Hope the exam goes (or went?) well for you! 28. SandTIger - GeminiI really enjoyed this, I think it may be my favourite so far of your compositions that I have heard. The call and response structure works really well and adds lots of interest. 29. MaryBee - Pavane pour un Infante defunteI love the dreamy character which you bring out beautifully. Hard to imagine dancing to this though 30. Michiyo-Fir/Jade - The Lark Wow! Superb. Look forward to hearing it again for our Russian recital 31. Alexander Borro - ABC ElementsI didn’t know this piece at all, but I love the ambiance you create here. Well done 32. CarlosCC - No Holly for Miss QuinnLovely piece, and your playing is a treat as always. It seems quite simple musically (in the sense that there are only a few ideas, simply presented), but sometimes those types of pieces can be harder to do well because there is nowhere to hide and there isn’t a flurry of stuff going on to distract your listener. 33. Cathryn999 - Bach Invention No. 14 These inventions are always deceptively harder than they look on the page, aren’t they!? I love them though, I should tackle some more of them. Lovely job here, even with iphone sound. 34. Zoot64 - Invention in C major BWV 772Another invention, yay! I’ve played this one a little bit, though never to the point of playing it properly (not even 40 piece challenge level, for which my bar is quite low!). You do a great job with it here, fluid, confident and even. 39. outo - Nocturne nr 4 I didn’t know what to expect from Poulenc. I see from your notes this is from 1929, it certainly has a 20s feel in places, a bit of jazz flavour here, a bit of a ragtime feel there. Very interesting and enjoyable. Yes, the two pianos sound very different! I think I prefer the second one for its clarity, even if the first has a more interesting character. 41. SwissMS/Doris - Arietta Op 47 #7Your playing really goes from strength to strength! You may be aware of things you want to polish, but really it’s already excellent. Flowing, confident, evocative, nuanced.

41 Swiss MS Now, one o0 the delights of these recitals is to hear others` pianos. Yours is truly lovely and the piece you play is so charming to listen to. That was down to you! Good stuff. 42 Shubertian Another lovely piano! And you do it justice with this music. A lot of confidence, force and determination goe into this, and it will pay off for you handsomely. This music was darned nice, and I look forward to hearing it again soon . . . 43 Owenje Two weeks?? You done great on this. None o the wobble expected in a total learner. Guess violins have their uses other than attracting the neighbourhood cats . . You gonna take this a long way, I reckon. 44 Copper Good job here. Plenty o enthusiasm, and it shows. These fake books are a great help, we like to call `em busker books . . . They`re just the job for live playing. Well done!

Thanks for listening and for the nice comments, Carlos and Piano_primo!
I am falling behind on sharing comments, but I am still really enjoying listening to everyone's pieces. I love how the recital always makes me want to try so many of the pieces that others are playing, it's such a wonderful source of encouragement, motivation, and just learning about new music!

Hi all, Thanks to all who have commented on my submission. It is really a good feeling to have somebody listen and comment on something that you have done. I will respond to some of the comments later. I have been enjoying my holidays and did not have time to listen to all the pieces let alone to comment on them! But I have been reading
