I read the long post on Roland's new 605, 605, LX7 and LX17 and noticed that many liked the FP-30 and F-140R with the older soundset.
Could a person have the best of both worlds with the F-140R and Pianoteq?

Pianoteq's sale ends tomorrow.

If you like the action of the cheaper, you can have more than that. By playing them together. The sum of the parts and all that . . . I do this all the time wi me FP50. Gotta sound better than the HP603. imo smile

The HP603 has much better action, so I would go with that, you can always change sound later, there is no need to rush.

Why do you want to buy a worse piano based on opinions of others? The HP603 is vastly superior to F140 in every possible way.

Why do you think you will like more the old sound rather than the new, which is really increadible and agreat pleasure to play?

I compared a FP-30 to a HP603. The FP-30 has the same keyboard as the F-140R and I like it.
I do not know if the first and second Piano sounds in the F-140R match the first two sounds in the FP-30. Does anyone here know if it is the same main piano sounds in both? I liked those sounds in the FP-30
I thought it would be nice to have the Supernatural sounds with samples along with Pianoteq.

You might like it. Pianoteq provides pedal whoosh, key and hammer clatter (adjustable thank goodness) and woody sounding pianos. Roland provide the guts, strength and you get an enhanced spacial feel too. But you may need an external amplifier in the mix to give that grunt; I managed similar previously with the DGX 650 which needed no extra amplification. Best thing is I`ve stopped looking around for the time being, I`m too busy playing to be bothered.

Bunno how you`d try this sort of set up out at the shop though . . .
