Has anyone here ever used the Chordec App for iPad to detect the chords from audio files?

If so, I'd be interested in hearing your impressions about it. Also, if anyone has any experience with it - Can it only analyze songs from your iTunes library? If so, is it possible to add audio from Youtube files to your iTunes library? I'm still looking for something to accurately analyze/display chords from audio files that I can find on Youtube, and I came across some info about Chordec, but it was a bit incomplete.

Thanks!

Thank You for the suggestion of Audiostretch. However....Either I'm not making the functionality I'm looking for clear, or perhaps I just don't see where that functionality is in Audiostretch.

Yes - I have Audiostretch and have tried it. All I can get it to do is play back an audio file, change its tempo, and/or change it's pitch/key. But I DON'T see any chords being displayed.

I'm looking for something to analyze the chords/progressions in the audio file and then display them. From there I would either memorize the piece or write the chords on staff paper. (I can usually work out the melody myself).

It doesn't appear to me that Audiostretch has this functionality - but maybe I'm just missing something? (It wouldn't be the first time.... frown )

How 'bout just using your own ears to try and figure out the harmony in question. smile

The more use use your ears and your brain, the task will get progressively easier, it's a fact.

AudioStretch is a great app for learning/transcribing music, however while it can 'guess' the pitch of notes played, I don't believe it's able to detect chords - at least, not yet. wink

Cheers,
James
