Guys, I don't know if this topic has been addressed. However, every facet of our lives is being touched by the divine hand of technology. As we speak, technicians are here installing a system where we can monitor and view our home via our phones along via a camera!
Well, that's the least as I could go on! Who buys a physical metronome anymore. There are handheld device free apps for that. My most recent find was an app call forScore for the ipad which bypasses the need to have tons of sheet music, not to mention turning pages...one can take a pdf picture of the scores or simply download them from the internet...I'm pleasantly overwhelmed by what's coming down the pike!
Have you found any

forScore is great! I like Notion for doing notation. And the Henle app (similar to forScore for buying and displaying digital G. Henle scores).
I need to look at recording apps more (and price cheap mics).
But, I do still like my pendulum metronome. 😀

[...] Who buys a physical metronome anymore.[...] The advantage to my "physical metronome" is that the battery lasts nine months to a year and it's always near the piano. My smart phone has to be charged every two to three days and who knows where it might be (where I last left it, probably). Regards,

Am I the only one who still owns a wind-up metronome?
My old one (that I bought as a teenager) no longer works, because the spring is kaput, so I bought a replacement one a few years ago, made of wood and metal and springs. It looks like an expensive antique. No battery needed, and it should last me till my demise......

No, you are not the only one with a wind-up metronome; I have one purchased over 50 ago which still functions. However, I mainly use the one on my iPhone

Music Journal. I use it to keep track of my practice time. You can add folders and individual pieces to organize things. When you start practicing, start the app, stop it when you're done. Adds up the times for you. Has a nice bar chart of the weeks practice time. I use it to prove to my teacher that, yes, I did average two hours a day last week.
It has a built in metronome, but I prefer to use "Tempo", another great app.

AirTurn PED, a Bluetooth foot pedal that you can use to turn pages, I use it with forScore as I read the score on my iPad. I love this set up!!
