Not sure where to post this - but is there a moderator or somewhere to go with technical questions about using Piano World? Reading the FAQs and searching topics hasn't turned up anything.

Basically, I'm wondering about avatars. Mine keeps getting rejected, even though it meets the specs. Then I noticed that no one has an avatar. So now I'm over here wondering if I photoshopped sunglasses and earbuds onto a teeny tiny picture of Chopin for nothing.

Any ideas? Again, sorry if this should be posted elsewhere.

I am seeing other avatars but not everyone has one. You could PM the moderators and in the case of ABF they are BB Player or casinitaly

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.

Maybe it doesn't like the URL to your avatar. I guess if I was going to do this, I'd upload it to the PianoWorld image section and then link to it there.

Ok - there it is. I pasted the link to my avatar image into the signature, which is what people are doing. Is that what you were expecting? Otherwise, it looks like the avatar only appears when one looks at somebody's profile.

There is a setting in your profile preferences that says whether or not show avatars. Make sure it's set to Yes. I think by default it might be No, at least mine was set to No smile

From My Stuff -> Edit Profile:

URL to your avatar (Your image must be smaller than 60x60 pixels; .gif, .jpg, .png accepted)

60x60 pixels is quite small. You can see the pixel size of the image by right-clicking the file, and choosing Properties (on a Windows PC).

If the pixel size is bigger than 60x60, just open the image in a program like Paint.net, or Microsoft Paint, and resize it, again assuming a Windows PC.

I've looked at a couple peoples' profiles, and looks like the only one where an avatar is appearing, including Stellaria's, is mine.

I see everyone's avatar (if they have one), on the left hand side here, under their name (David, TheodorN, Montuno, etc.)

Weird - now they work. An hour ago they didn't - at least for me.

I can see everyone's avatar here in the post from my Android smartphone, but not when I'm on my desktop. On my desktop, I can only see avatars in profiles. Anyone else?

Are you logged in when accessing it from your phone? There is a setting "Show Avatars" in your user preferences that needs to be checked.

Thank you! Went to "My Stuff" - "Edit Preferences" and toggled the "Show avatars" to Yes. And here you all are. I could see the avatars from my phone because I was not logged in.

Nice pics, everyone!

What is the image section? Is that the same as the PW Picture Uploader?

I went to the Photo Gallery forum and posted a new image. I think it brings up the same picture uploader menu.

Also, leave off the [img] tags when you post the URL into the avatar menu.

Aaaand... there it is. Thanks David!

I noticed you're one bunny fewer than last time I logged on. I kind of liked the double-bunny effect. laugh
