Since the RD-800 is now 3 years old - here is hoping the new RD is announced at NAMM in just a few hours.

I just sent a Facebook message to one of the owners of a Philadelphia piano store who is at NAMM.

I asked him if he happened to walk by the Roland exhibit if he would ask if there were an update \ upgrade for Roland's top of the line stage piano, the RD800.

I'll either hear back from him or stay up another hour and use the following link to 'see' what Roland has to offer.

It's a wide piano, 1412 mm.

It will be a tight fit in my flight case.

Now what do I do? Do I buy a RD800 in perfect condition for €1300 or do I go all out and spend probably more than €2000 for the RD2000?

I have to think about this.

It's a no brainer. Go for the RD-2000.

That's a pretty good price for the RD-800....maybe you can talk him down to 1200 now that the RD-2000 is announced?

I would assume €2500 here in Western Europe.

I sent my local store an e-mail asking the price. I'll post it here when I learn.

The RD-2000 is $2,499 in the U.S.

So, $500 jump...

Nice. Looks like Roland had everyone drop the price of the RD-800 recently to make room for the RD-2000, because the RD-800 used to cost $2499 in the US up until very recently.
