Can't wait to hear it! And I share your difficulties with trills. I would love to learn "Nuvole Nere," but the trills at the beginning kick my butt every time. mad

For an inveterate procrastinator such as myself, 3+ weeks seems a long way off. wink However, I'd better get some tracks down, not just for this recital but also the French-themed recital and the following quarterly. Starting in late March I have a 6-week stretch where I'm not going to have access to a piano very often. So this thread is an excellent reminder. smile

Thanks for reporting! I'm mostly set : I already recorded a piece shortly after last recital. I only need to finish the text about the piece smile I have been working since then on the piece for the recital after the coming one.

Surprise, surprise! I had two short pieces ready for recording and was recording them a couple times each day for the past week. One of them finally fell into place this morning - so I packaged it up and created a Youtube video with score. I'll start writing something up and should be ready to go soon.

Who`s gonna be first? grin

Y`know, I got mine back up to recording standard . . . and I just can`t be bothered. All those wires . .(well, one actually) and nobody really wants to see a vid of either my hands or face!! nor will the dog stand in either.
I need a kick up the Khyber Pass . . .

Opens for submissions on the 1st. Submissions close and goes live the 15th - all dependent on Monica's pleasure. There is a countdown timer on the submission page, but the gracious and talented Monica is a volunteer and she is the final judge - don't be late!

I made a good recording today, so I am ready! I am playing a boogie woogie for a change, which fits my current rental piano. Kind of honkytonk!

frown The piece I was hoping to have ready - isn't. I may have to wait till the recital after this one.

I am much more worried about the French recital than this one. The piece for that may not be anywhere finished, it is probably just too hard...I should look for plan B I guess or I'll miss the whole thing.

The piece for this one is well memorized and kind of performance ready (as good as it will get for now) although I know I will struggle with recording as always.

Every quarter I console myself with this: "The primary purpose of the recitals is to allow AB forum members to provide a snapshot of where they are in their piano journey at that particular point in time. The goal is not perfection but rather to share with one another our current projects."

If I could only submit 'finished' pieces, I would never have started. So I make mistakes, and I'm never where I hoped I'd be - but next time I'll be one step closer. (Leonard Cohen was SO right - 'there's a crack, a crack in everything - that's how the light gets in'.) heart

I started preparing this recital just after the end of the last one. So, I'm quite excited to say that I'm prepared to start recording "my version" of Divenire (Einaudi).

I look forward as always, and the Einaudi entries. Not sure what's it gonna be this time around dabbling in various. May be I'll have a bit of a blast on the old Satie. Not played any new einaudi since last recital, apart from keeping some of the oldies under the fingers.

I'll possibly do gnossiene 2 on the ethereal sounding una corda upright piano, seeing that gnossiene 2 rarely gets played here in recitals. That particular piano sound and Satie is a good marriage, at least I thought when I tried it, so I may well just ending up doing that for a change.

If all else fails throw the kitchen cutlery on top of the real acoustic and make some random noises on the prepared piano ( If I had an acoustic ) ... that would be a last resort grin
