Not me either, I'm afraid. I started out with great enthusiasm and some easy pieces - It won't last.

Although I'm not overly fond of classical music, I knew it would be helpful with fingering and reading so I picked up a couple of song books and have sort of mastered my first song. Included was a CD with piano examples of all the songs which helps on songs I don't know.

Brian, "Shenandoah" is one of my favorite pieces of - I guess you would call it folk music. Ever since I first heard it in the movie of that name with Jimmy Stewart. I have a simple Alfred arrangement of "Shenandoah" that I like to play.

And I just noticed that you composed two more pieces - one of them a sonatina. Awesome!!!!

Added a link for Clowns. I started at 90 bpm, but I think I speed up in the end. My teacher pointed this out to me this past Saturday. Could be better, I'll come back to it again later. Also added a little etude from RCM Level 1.

Ah Shucks blush

In unit 1 of the Faber Level 5 lesson book there have been two "old standards" that I have really enjoyed learning and playing. Shenandoah is one, "Come Back To Sorrento" was the other. Both songs I had never really heard before.

sara, that was the first piece I started learning before I had my method books and wanted to go on practicing to be able to do this: In the Hall of the Mountain King

But I stopped with it. Maybe some day I'll try again. laugh

HA!!! I wish I could get my piano to make that noise!! Maybe some day I can be half as good as that guy. I just am amazed when I see both his hands obviously hitting many notes and yet he can pull the melody out with one finger. Truly amazing.
