I'm pretty sure this photo has come up before in the history of the recitals, but it's still applicable. And cute. grin

Good! You started just in time: keep making 3 recordings every day and afer a week you will have something acceptable smile (that's how it often works for me)

That sounds good, but during the week I rarely come home in time to open the piano and play the acoustic full power. It takes some time to get the work stuff out of my brain and get food in my belly and then it's often past the time I have promised to stop torturing the neighbors. I think I really should get my priorities revised and learn to leave home earlier...I often decide to but then I start procastranating again laugh

Hi to all, I just joined the forum recently. I am 44 years old and have been learning for 1.5 yrs after 2-3 years of "dabbling around" by myself, quite unsuccessfully.
I listened to past recitals and the level here is amazing. My effort is definitely subpar, but I hope it will be the first in a series of ever better contributions.

Thanks all for this great place!!

Chris

Welcome CRP, looking forward to listening to your submission. I know the standard of some folks can be intimidating but remember they were all beginners once as well.

Surprisingly easy, barely an inconvenience.

Welcome to the forum, CRP!! smile And please don't be intimidated... we've had people participate in the recital who had been playing a grand total of TWO WEEKS. When we say that a wide range of experience is welcome, we truly mean it. thumb Have you recorded yourself playing before? If not, try to experiment with whatever system you're going to use well in advance of the deadline. Many of us found that it took a lot of trial and error to figure out the best placement of the microphone and gain settings.

Welcome back (says me, participating in just my 3rd PW recital). This is turning into a Schumann-themed recital!

I'm going to have to skip this time, I'm afraid the piece closest to being ready isn't at a recordable stage yet. But -- I'm totally looking forward to listening to everyone else's marvelous pieces!

P.S. I "stole" that kitten image for future reference. smile

While this is only the second ABF recital in which I'm taking part, I'm very much looking forward to hearing everyone's submissions. Already I see a lot of exciting pieces have been submitted. One in particular that especially interests me is Greener's submission of Chopin's Db Nocturne. That is one tough piece to play--for me anyway; I began tackling it 3 weeks ago and have been struggling with it ever since. Can't wait to hear all of you!

well I tried a recording, but unless I am recording under swamp records, I cannot not submit it... I am hoping to have something rigged together by the deadline.

Thank you, SMA55. Yes looking forward to listening. Oh, for sure and many difficult pieces in these recitals, for anyone. Many of the pieces would be life time projects to get them decent. This one would be in that category for me, for sure, but I'll likely drop it again now. Maybe if I pick it up a 3rd time I could get 10% better.

BTW, I believe the nocturne you are submitting is like ARCT level. smokin

Argh. I had the stomach flu, had to cancel the tuner's visit, and didn't even touch the piano for several days!

Hope to get on track over the weekend and do the recording!

How time flies! I recorded the other night and I hope it is acceptable sound quality (haven't listened to it yet). If not I need to try again this weekend...

And mine is a Scarlatti sonata too smile
