Hello,

I have a Tryber Piano serial# 13113. Can anyone tell me the age of this piano? I have not been able to find much about Tryber Piano on the web. It was inherited from my great Grandmother so I think it might be around 100 years old. It appears to be mahagony. And I also think its a grand upright. Any info would be greatly appriciated!

Thanks,
Pat

Pat, my piano atlas indicates Tryber's serial numbers ran up to 15,399 previous to 1900, so all I can tell you for sure is that your piano was manufactured between 1881-1899.

Tryber was a Chicago, IL company who was apparently purchased by Lakeside Piano Company around 1916.

Hi Pat,

I also have a Tryber piano that I have been trying to research. I have this exerpt from a book that might help you out:

TRYBER PIANO CO. 240-256 W. Lake? Chicago, Ill. succeeded by Lakeside Piano Co., name used by Story and Clark. Tryber Est. 1881.
1900 - 15400
1905 - 16300
1908 - 17200
1910 - 18100
1912 - 19100
1915 - 2100

The serial number is pre-1900's according to this list. My piano was made around 1915. I would love to see a pic of your piano. I haven't seen very many Tryber piano's and it would be interesting! My email is soymakesscents@clubcandles.com
