Hello-- I have been lingering around this forum for months now, looking for advice and info on buying a used, decent, workhorse piano for my young ones to learn on.
We recently bought a 1980 Kawai 800 series upright (801-F, to be specific). It needs a new leg, but I believe it'd be easier to change both. B/C this is in a rumpus room, we're willing to replace the legs w/ anything that will "fit"-- literally fit into the groove and not necessarily fit the Queen Anne style of the piano.
Does anyone know where can I purchase these 800 series legs (a piano salvage yard?) and/or have such legs made (for a reasonable, i.e., dirt cheap price)? We're in the Los Angeles area. I'd appreciate any referrals! Thanks!

Profit in North Hollywood sells turned legs that you could with slight mod. fit to a console piano. There are plenty of places in Los Angeles that sell turned legs. Theres a place on Laurel Canyon above Roscoe in Sun Valley in SFV that has more selection They can make anything Can't remember the name of the place at this moment
