I recently purchased a kawai kg-2a (1990) piano and it appears it had a player option as the wires are visable and it looks like the "cpu" or "guts" have been removed. It was checked by a CPT before purchase (not the player option - forgot to ask) and checked out well but i wanted some feedback on how much it would cost to re-intall the player option and if it is worth the effort. Any leads or advice for a first time piano purchase would be appreciated.

The KG2A was the predessesor (Kawai 5'10")mdl.to the present RX2. It was an artist quality grand in Kawai's lineup in that era. The dealer most likely guted the player in that a 18 year old player system is a door stop. It was most likely a pianocorder(cassette) or an early obsolete Pianodisc system. Your only advantage is that if you do decide to get a player system installed, the routed out keybed and modified trapwork may be to your advantage (Most likely not). So...a playersystem installed will hide the evidense of a former player system. ;\)

Maybe the piano suffers from PMS. (Post Moving Syndrome.)
Some men are music lovers. Others make love without it.
