It plays really well!!

As far as the boy playing... My daughter got through the primer...and lost interest... but is begging now that she sees this beauty.... my son wanted to play trumpet... but as of this evening... he wants to play piano... and the other son... wants to play piano now too.... Its funny, They were sitting on the sofa waiting for me to come home from lesson so they could play it... I had the lid down and said... NO ONE touches!

I hope they can deal with lessons from mom, cuz Im shelling out $40 an hour for me... and quite honestly... add in 3 half hour lessons... I cant afford that a week... UNLESS they prove they are dedicated... and I think they can prove it to me .... if they let them teach them.

She looks fantastic! I've heard nothing but good things about SP.

Unfortunately I missed Jeffrey's NYC PW get together or I would have had a chance to play one.

Thanks smile Jeffrey which do you have,a grand?

I had piano lessons last night, and let me just tell you... the feel of the SP and the action... is better than her old S&S... no kidding... her Steinway is stiff... She has a Yamaha C-3 or 5, and a Steinway (dont remember the model) and gives lessons on the Steinway. Anyway...I like the way the SP feels and sounds.

I have a notebook that I am going to start to jot down "tweeks" for instance, I have one key that sometimes double strikes, and another that doesnt pull away from the strings fast enough when playing, so it buzzes a tad... He comes to tweek and tune in April.

All in all, I am so totally impressed. My friend has a Hallet Davis 46 inch (made in china) that I ALMOST bought last summer... ummm well It doesnt even come close to the feel and tone of the SP. His H&D is 5 years old.

Anyway... The boy I babysit was dropped off at 8 and threw up 5 times... I had him in the excersaucer til his dad got here... KEEP HIM AWAY FROM THE SP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I was having flashbacks to the post a few days ago about the S&S getting blessed with vomit :-(

So I have washed my carpet 2 times and my floor 3. although I did play him some Mozart while he was in the saucer! He seemed to enjoy!

Denise,

Beautiful piano! I love the design and color! Congratulations on a terrific musical instrument. I hope all MY piano customers are as excited as you! This, BTW, is the exact reason I am back in retail piano sales! The reward of seeing clients extatic with their purchases is very rewarding!

Good luck! And thanks for sharing!

Paul,

I went to all our major stores that are near by... and let me tell you... the one I liked the BEST was so down to earth... Family run, no commission based pressure, and they all have "dirty hands" because when there are no customers they are fixing pianos. The one store, everyone is dressed in nice suits, and they swarm you like vultures. The other was ok, just totally cleared out from a "college sale"... not a bad place... employees arent hard for a sale... but the store I purchased from... I really liked there way of doing business! AND personally... they get 5 stars from me... because the piano was prepped and delivered in ONE DAY!!!!! I was supposed to wait til tomorrow... but its here!!

I am used to sales people thinking I am younger than I am, and treating me as if I am ignorant... I do not claim to know that much about pianos, but the last year of reading here, reading Larry Fine's book and talking to a few pro pianists, teachers... etc... I think I have a TAD more knowledge than Mrs. Smith who wants her 4 year old to take lessons.

IT was funny because THE ONLY salesman who I couldnt stump on my questions... was the one who sold me the SP, and he is a Tech. So I feel really good about the whole experience!
