This piece is popular as an on-hold music.
I don't how the standard way of notating in text so I will describe the crude syntax:

Notes GABCDEF are ascending.
C is middle C.
The numeric prefix is the time value for the not. For example 4C is a quarter-note on C and 8.Gb is a dotted eighth on Gb.

2C 4D 4E 8.F 8E 2D 4B 4G
8A 8.B 2C 8B 8.A 2Ab 8Gb 8.Ab 4A

The key and the tempo may be completely wrong.

jg...(etc.,etc.)

Some of the intervals and their progression here vaguely remind me of the English folktune "Greensleeves", but, if that's what it's supposed to be - no disrespect intended - your notation is not quite "spot on".

I played it, but have no clue. What to you mean "on hold music?" Like, muzac (sp?) for the telephone?

Bruce is right - it's a rhythmically morphed Greensleeves.

Thanks, that's it.

I heard it on the phone a while ago so I didn't expect the rhythm to be too accurate.
After another look at the notation, I seem to have confused myself with the text notation.

Heh, I can pick it out if I ignore the rhythm...

Holst did a pretty nice interpretation of Greensleeves in his St Paul Suite, last movement.

And, of course, Vaughan Williams has written a beautiful fantasia on Greensleeves.

Its easy to read without even playing it as long as you include a G for the anacrusis.
