We are looking for a French song (lyrics) sung to Chopin’s Etude Op 10 #3. If anyone knows what this is, a title, maybe I can find the sheet music for it somewhere.

I have heard of it, though I have forgotten the name. It is sung by Charles Aznavour, je crois.
Benedict will surely know...

I heard Domingo sing it on a CD, with orchestral accompaniment. Maybe look through the Domingo CDs as well as Charles Aznavour on Amazon....

David Burton:

I know some pretty insipid English lyrics to that theme under the title of "No Other Love."

Regards,

Well, now I’m really confused. Since it was my boss who asked me to look for it, a woman in her early seventies with a background that is half French, I assumed that whatever the song was that it must have been from an earlier period. Charles Aznavour sounds right, and of course it has to do with some love theme, though I doubt the lyrics would have anything to do with incest. All I need is the title in French and I can probably find it from there. She’s looking for the sheet music for this song as I guess she wants to sing it as I play it (she sings very well as some older women can). Anyway, thanks in advance for your help.

David,

I do not know a song by Charles Aznavour on the music of Chopin.

A search in Google wasn't fruitful.

I hope you find a suitable song for your boss's friend.

Regards.

Sais-tu laquelle ?

Salut.

David,

Here you will find a list of French songs based on classical themes :

Classique/varietes

If you want to find the words of a song, you can type in Google the name of the song and paroles (=lyrics) plus the name of the author to make sure.

Jane B is based on the prelude in E minor.
I am not sure it is what your boss is looking for though.

I hope you find something that will boost your carreer laugh

Regards.

“I hope you find something that will boost your career.”

Ah Merci Benedict.

But I looked at les paroles for lemon incest and …. They would certainly cause a scandal since her family, half are French, and speak it always, would know and fail to be amused.

I think it best to try to put this one to rest unless better paroles can be found.

Encore, merci bien Benedict. wink
