I love spending time in used book stores.....

I found this 1947 piece by Charles Williams & it looked interesting, so I purchased it. I googled it briefly & found out it was used in an old movie, is not frequently performed today, & that some orchestral recordings do exist for purchase. My teacher (a terrific pianist) kindly sight read & played it for me, but she also is unfamilar with this piece. Can anyone help .... I think I want to learn this. I'm wondering:

1) If a "piano" recording of this piece exists on any of the internet sites (my favorite bookmarked sites were erased recently).
2) If someone can recommend a CD with a "piano recording" of this piece.
3) If someone knows any bit of history concerning this piece & it's composer.

Thank you.

The music is from the British film "While I Live" (1947), cast and production crew at Movies.com

I played this as a piano solo as a teenager, and loved it then.

... and then I went to Tower Records' website and found 9 CDs containing "The Dream of Olwen."

I tried A&B Sound (Canadian music distributor), but could find nothing on their site.

Thanks BruceD. I think I'll make this a summer project, perhaps go to the library/ search through some vinyl/even order a CD. This piece seems intriguing, & I don't know why yet. Funny thing too, when I was looking through this at the used book store, I could actually "hear" how the notes would sound, in my head, so to speak ..... & this was confirmed when my teacher later played it. I've not been able to do this before ..... My teacher said I was probably having a "musical moment", whatever this means.

Thanks again, Katie.
