Schroeder was one of my first musical idols. He played a movement of one of Beethoven's Sonatas in "A Boy Named Charlie Brown" where Charlie Brown competed in a spelling bee. I remember watching it while I was very young, and seeing Schroeder playing the entire movement for about 5-6 minutes.

After that, I started to learn the first movement of the Moonlight Sonata.

Is that Schumann's Traumeri in the third one?

I always thought Schroeder was a specialist exclusively for Beethoven. Now he turns out to play Rachmaninoff op. 23/5 and whistle Schumann Träumerei. Very ambitious for a toy pianist. And obviously very attractive for girls.

In the play rehearsal scene of "A Charlie Brown Christmas," he's onstage playing a Vince Guaraldi tune while everyone dances. In fact, I think Schroeder and Guaraldi knew each other.

I love it when they play the piano in Peanuts.

It makes it all happier.

Awesome.

About 30 years ago I was the pianist for a performance of You're a Good Man Charlie Brown.
The cast gave me a pin of Schroeder which I still have somewhere.
