What was the title of this thread again?

The way i look at it is, we are keeping this thread at the top of the list until someone actually does have a picture to post. Otherwise it will get lost in the forum like many a good post before has.

Well, I just posted this on another thread but in keeping with the spirit of this thread (!) I thought I'd add my pictures here again ...

This is a Kemble Windsor with Mahogany finish.

Sorry about the off-colour - this was taken at night and the flash on my camera has flashed it's last frown

Oh! And I can quote pi to 9 decimal places because that's all my calculator will show confused laugh

Wow, your Kemble is gorgeous. It looks so shiny (yes, my judging techniques are really that sophisticated :p ).

So where abouts in England were you?

(oh, and incase anyone was wondering - though i doubt many of you are actually sad enough to - pi to 30 decimal places is 3.141592653589793238462643383279)

The Kemble is less than a month old which is why it is still so shiny. The look has already changed though since taking the pictures. There are now photos of 3 kids on it and toys strewn around, even the odd score sheet to be found. I'm considering attaching bubblewrap to the bench and lower part of the piano to prevent scuffs from toy prams and falling lego towers eek

And I was in Oxford for a year and Loughborough the rest of the time.

Well i've never stayed in Loughborough but i've driven through it. Oxford, however, is a place i am greatly in love with and would spend every waking hour in if i could.

Ok, among all the wonderful Steinways, Bosendorfers, etc., I'll show off my 1918 Hobart M. Cable:

The action is a bit more light than clavinova, but it is very comfortable and there are wooden keys

Was that a 'crash' I heard as everything slid off the lid to the floor as you opened it for pic #2? laugh (see thread http://www.pianoworld.com/ubb/cgi-bin/ultimatebb.cgi?/topic/1/11795.html) wink

Beautiful piano, hope you have many years of enjoyment.

Guiseppe,

Thanks for sharing. I have a question. Since it is digital, does it sound differently when you have the top up or down?

Enjoy, Roberta

Preizler,

Congratulations for your new RX2, it looks very nice.

I'm contemplating of getting this as well and I was comparing between Yamaha and Kawai, but Yamaha is more expensive for similar size. I did a try at the showroom last weekend, but they didn't have the RX2, but RX3 and GE30. I was already impressed by the GE30 which is able to sound mellow when playing soft and sounding metallic bright when playing loud. I didn't get that feel with other cheaper brands, many of them were too bright, which i didn't like.

Yes there is a difference, the sound is more spacious with top up, but the difference is not so big like the acustic one because the loudspeaker are situated not only on the soundboard, but there are also 4 tweeter at the right and left of the keyboard and 1 subwoofer and 1 mid range under the body of the piano, so the sound isn't totally locked when the top is down
