The book is "Velocity Plus" by Leroy Campbell, Mus. Doc., 60 single-spaced xeroxed pages, Creative Music Publishers, NYC, 1940.

The book is "an intensive study of the problem of musical velocity in piano playing and teaching."

In his forward the author states: "In the last analysis, it is not a question of 'method', it is not what these eminent pedagogues, nor I say. The vital consideration is: do any of us work in true form and in exact accord with the fundamental and fixed laws of mechanics and psychology."

This little volume was extremely enjoyable to read, and quite helpful too. You can get it through interlibrary loan.

my teacher is the librarian for our state music teachers' association. i'll read it and then donate it to the mta library.
