I am still recovering from what was probably the most incredible performance I have seen in ages. Martha Argerich and Prokofieff #3, live, and all I can say is 'WOW'! And poor Madame A -- the crowd would NOT let her go. She had at least 8 curtain calls, and they would have kept going had she not signaled (politely) that she'd had enough...Hope you all get a chance to see it. The first piece on the program was quite fun and amusing. Now, getting ready for Tchaikowsky 5th Symphony, coming up in 10 minutes.

I get to see her perform the Prokofiev 3 in November in NYC. If she shows up... laugh

Once during a concert at Carnegie Hall, the violinist Rachmaninoff was playing with lost his place in the music and whispered to Rachmaninoff, "Where are we?" Rachmaninoff replied, in all seriousness, "Carnegie Hall".

She seems in very good health...don't forget she had been fighting breast cancer. You don't recover from that overnight! She and Dutoit have a very big tour planned (US and Europe), including your NYC concert...The Verbier performance should be archived by tomorrow. Don't miss it!

I though she had skin cancer?

Most certainly. It was worth the wait.

One could carp about the camera angles, though... us pianists would rather see a less distorted view of the keyboard. But what's new, eh?

I think she had a band-aid on her right thumb (watch at the beginning) -- perhaps that is what went flying?
