It's freely adapted from the finale of Saint-Saens' glorious "Organ" Symphony.

Got it. Answered my own question. I wasn't thinking back far enough. Saint-Saens 3rd Symphony. Swiped in 1977 by Fitzgerald and Keeley.

I'm not familiar with all of Bach's choral music, so my initial thought was a motif that I had heard in a Bach Cantata. The organ Symphony is a wonderful piece of music. I was unfamiliar with it. Not any more.
