#378991 - 11/24/01 06:17 PM Which curriculum works best to improve at the piano?

Hi:

I am currently practising scales, Hanon, 7th Chords, and playing different (easy piano) pieces. I have been taking lessons for two years and I am curious what others have practised in order to get good at the piano. I would like to improve my "piano orientation" or what others would probably call sight reading skills (e.g. look at the music and quickly play the melody and harmony without much thought). Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Felix.

My advice would be to do it as often as possible. Where in NY are you from?

Hello Amy:

I live on Long Island. Regarding my last post, I realize that one has to be patient with the piano, but it is always helpful to check in to see what others have done to improve their skill.
