This would be a difficult question to answer, had I not seen Joanna MacGregor in the flesh earlier this year - she is great!

Perahia. Although he's "branched out" into the Baroque in recent years he made his reputation on Schumann, and right now, as I'm listening to his recording of the Op. 17 Fantasy--oh the sublime third movement!--I can see why. Perahia understands Schumann as few pianists do. His Mozart is wonderful, too.
