I am not sure what this means. But it seems that it is good!
Could you explain why you applied, what will be happening, how long, who studying with etc?
What do you think this means for your advancement etc?

Oh man. I was expecting to get alternate like I did for Tanglewood. I couldn't sleep last night I was so excited.  Music Academy of the West is one of the most selective, if not the most selective summer program for solo and collaborative piano. It's right up there with Tanglewood and Marlboro. It all takes place in Santa Barbara, CA. Surely a fine place to spend the summer. There's only one teacher: Jerome Lowenthal, one of the faculty members of the Juilliard School. All of the faculty and guest musicians are really of the highest caliber. This is going to be awesome.

It was obvious that, you were a very talented pianist with a shining future, since the very early days of Pianoworld, when you had first posted those Brahms recordings.

Wow, congratulations! My teacher studied with Lowenthal... and my teacher is awesome. Question -- When did you audition for Tanglewood? I'm anxiously awaiting my decision. I'm guessing you auditioned last year... do you remember around when you were contacted? Again, congrats. I'm sure you'll have a blast!

Brendan - Congratulations! Not only is it one of the top summer programs in the U.S. for piano, but for instrumentalists and vocalists as well. If any of you aren't familiar, just go to the website: musicacademy.org. It is extremely competitive - an incredible faculty with guest artists. Once again - Bravo!
