I'm thinking of recording a CD; well, more than thinking, really - I've got a contract to record a CD. I was originally planning to record it as MIDI files and then send them to a studio, but the MIDI files are not sounding good at all, and I think I'll have to go with a real piano and a real studio on this one. Can someone recommend a good one, with a good piano?

I'm not familiar with the areas, but I think it would be best to talk to people at college music departments. You could do the recording for relatively cheap, and all decent music departments will have at least one fine piano to record on in a concert hall setting. At WVU, for example, we have a recording technician on staff. I'm sure many colleges around that area would have one too.
