Any opinions or info regarding their music school? I've been there for the past two summers for NHSMI and will probably go this year too. Just wondering if it is worth the effort to try and actually get into the university.

From what I've heard, ditto B and Thrac.
I've heard Oppens, Wang, Giles, and Chow in concert, and they're all great.

I do not know much about the school. I also have heard that it was wonderful. My summer piano teacher, Karen Walker, was a graduate of Northwestern and she is wonderful. She is currently a professor at Shenandoah University.

I think I have heard of northwest and I remember that it was spoken of favorably. I looked into their summer program which sounded fabulous but alas, the funds just don't flow..
if this questions is really off topic, don't worry about answering or whatever, but what have you all heard about Indiana University school or music? obviously it's a huge school with a very distinguished faculty, but I've heard rather mixed reviews from a few people. Stuff along the lines of "just because you can perform doesn't mean you can teach" and that a lot of students get glossed over. Has anyone else heard things like this or have you heard differently?

I've heard that.
A good friend of mine was accepted into Pressler's studio. When he got there, he was told that Pressler was full and ended up studying with someone else for 2 years before a spot opened up. This was for a graduate degree.
