Right then. We have a winner:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/Martha-Arge...&s=dvd&qid=1179285672&sr=1-1

(Non Argerich people, please move on and don't clutter up the thread.)

A maginificent DVD, especially her performance of the Prokofiev 1st. At almost 66 years of age, her powers remain as potent as ever. There are plenty of shots of her hands, and when have we heard the Allegro scherzando done in such a playful manner? It exceeds her EMI recording.

So typical of Argerich, everything is so effortless. The music making is entirely unimpeded by any technical considerations, she is free to be a be a light to lighten... and to be the glory of thy people...... Anglican theology twisted a bit eek , but I suppose the point is fair enough. IMHO.

Thanks for the infor, argerichfan.

I will order this one shortly. I have her recent DVD of the Schumann Concerto. I find her encore of "From Strange Land and People" by Schumann is mesmerizing. A short piece like this really demonstrates the difference a great artist can make.
