I purchased a Baldwin L1 about six months ago after six months of piano research. After a month in the house, the piano started cracking along the top of the rim. The dealer took the piano back and Baldwin offered to fly me up to the factory to pick out another piano. For some reason, I just felt like I wasn't sold anymore on the Baldwins. This dilemma went on for several months and during the time period I started venturing out again and looking at pianos. I ran across the M&H BB and fell in love!! There was NO comparison between the two pianos. I went back to the dealer and explained that I wanted my money back and that I was going to get a different piano. He asked which one and I told him the M&H BB. He asked me to sit tight for a week and that there was a good chance he would be taking on the line. Two weeks later the dealer became a M&H dealer and I got to play a BB next to a Baldwin. As I had stated earlier, NO COMPARISON! The M&H BB is the most amazing piano I've ever played!! Yes, it costs a little more but it's worth every dollar!! In my opinion, it's the most amazing piano out there!

Congratulations on your piano!

This is not the first horror story on Baldwin pianos that I heard. I expect to hear more after the company laid off 34 employees from their Trumann, Arkansas facility.

Mason and Hamlin are quality pianos. And Pianoworld has an annual tour at the Mason and Hamlin facility in Massachusetts where some members get to see the people working with the tools of the trade.

We would like to see some pictures of your new piano!

Love the Mason Hamlin BB!

Have you seen where your piano was made yet?

I'd love to try one sooner or later, but from what I've read around here you've got yourself one great piano! And congrats for the dealer you've found, it seems that he's done a good job. Of course, had he not taken up M&H it could very well be a different story, but it's a feel-good story nonetheless! congrats!
