Does any one have a clue to what year The Regent Piano was built, the ser # is 73129 and the is a hand written date of 6/27/21 inside plus its has hand written Samuel & Gourley inside. Its an upright all wood in good condition with only 2 hammers broke but repairable. Any info would be great
Thanks confused

I used to have a Regent upright, and it served me well. Regents were made by Blasius and are included in the David Burton's (definitive!) list of notable golden age pianos. Use the search feature on this Forum to read more about Blasius.

Mine was built in 1915, but yours is a bit older. Per the Piano Atlas, serial number 73129 was built in 1909. The date 6/27/21 is probably a date on which it was tuned or serviced. One can only hope that the notation 6/27/21 does not represent the most recent date of tuning or service. eek

You mention two broken hammers as being the only required work, but I would caution you to have a piano technician take a look at it prior to investing a lot of money in it. Have it tuned while you are at it. You may find that for a coupla hundy you can have a fine old piano in your home that is a joy to own. You may however, find (alas!) it will no longer hold a tune and is not suitable for playing.

Enjoy!
