Thanks for that info. It looks like the money raised will go to a GREAT cause.

I had an opportunity to play one of those Galileos just like the one in the raffle and it is an amazing digital. The sound and touch is absolutely fantastic. It's definitely one I wouldn't mind having.

Question: how does a "digital grand piano" differ from some other kind of "digital" piano? Are there digital vertical pianos??? Is a "digital grand piano" anything other than a digital keyboard with a button that says "Grand Pianos" on it? I see the instrument in question has a lid that hinges at one end - is that the defining chartacteristic?
I find this terminology could confuse people...

I wish the fundraiser well and hope they can raise a lot of money for children's charities. And I also hope no one thinks they are going to win a grand piano

It's a digital in a grand case, Jurgen. The sound should be the same as any digital, but it will look jazzier:

I have rarely been lucky in winning raffles but for the cause here I have bought a book. My wife is even more averse to raffles but recently we have won a couple. Three times lucky??

I rarely win anything either, although I have won a few things over the years.

This is a case of the cause being more valuable then the prize.

I see you're from England, and therefore likely not familiar with the Hole In The Wall Gang organization.
Here in the States, it's a highly regarded organization dedicated to bringing some joy into the lives of terminally ill kids who have little to be joyous about.

It's money well spent.
