EVERYONE..I NEED YOUR HELP!!!
At school (subject of music) we are being asked to compose a "song"..lyrics and everything...

Due in next week, we need to have decided on a title!!!! (for some strange reason, the teacher wants us to find a title before we write lyrics or chords or ANYTHING!)

EVERYONE! i want at least ONE suggestion!!
any title, absolutley ANYTHING that might work, would be greatly appreciated!!!!!

Well, whats the song going to be about? That would help in choosing titles.

even though you have to give the title to the teacher first you can still get the idea for the whole song in general, right?

Well, whatever you decide, here's my recommendation: write the lyrics first and set them to music. I find that much easier than writing the music first and then setting lyrics to the music.

Do you have to write your own lyrics? If not, why not just appropriate a good bit of poetry by some long dead person? Surely your school's library has thousands of available poems. That's what I did for the "Write a Romantic Lied" assignment in second-year theory.

And if you DO have to write your own lyrics, well, go for the Dada school of lyrics: they should all be mono- and di-syllabic words in streams of eight or less, preferably centered around a theme, like liver or something else ridiculous. wink

Tell your teacher the words will be improvised by the audience, as you perform your "Hommage to Cage: Music for Piano and Wire Cutters"

"... and everything," you said. Then surely the title - to go with the lyrics you are going to write - should be your own, too, not one that someone else suggested to you. Look around you, use your imagination, and let us know what you come up with.

BruceD is correct you come up with your own title. However I am happy to help you out, giving you not only the title, but also the key!

"E Minor Jam"

also written Emi Jam

which re-arranged is "Jemima" wink

I've got the key for you.

Try "Something in G minor, by Jemima"

There are many ways to write down a composition! You could make it sound romantic, baroque, classical, or even dissonant!!! smile eek
I have composed one piece, and I have made it dissonant. I have also arranged a piece that I'll be playing in Mount Vernon, NY. smile This piece isn't discordant, but it's like a romantic style!

No, it isn't the Baptist Church. It's actually the United Methodist Church. It's at 227 East Lincoln Avenue! The church needs to be repaired! smile This is a benefit concert for the church. It'll take place on October 19 at 7:30 at night! smile smile smile smile
If you're there, it'll be great to meet you!!!!!!! smile wink

Hi CrashTest!
The church is on the corner of Summit Avenue; it has a big steeple with a clock on top. You can't miss it! smile smile
